2026 Township Council Candidate

About Me

Dana and I moved to Verona to be closer to family, and it took about a week to know we had picked the right town. Neighbors introduced themselves on the sidewalk. People held doors at the bakery. Kids were out on bikes until the streetlights came on.

Our life here is pretty ordinary in the best way: coffee in the morning, a loop around Verona Park when the weather cooperates, dinner with family on the weekends, and a standing habit of stopping to talk with whoever we run into on the way.

That day-to-day is the reason I'm running. The decisions made at Town Hall show up in small ways all over an ordinary week, and I want to help get those decisions right.

Things I Enjoy

I play with VARS, and it is one of my favorite parts of the week. It is competitive enough to keep you honest and friendly enough that you end up knowing half the field by name. A rec league is a small picture of what makes Verona work: residents showing up, organizing themselves, and looking out for each other.

Verona Park and the outdoors

Walks around the lake, weekend hikes, and any excuse to be outside. Verona's green space is one of the reasons people stay here, and it deserves to be maintained like the asset it is.

Cooking and hosting

Grilling for family and neighbors, trying a recipe that may or may not work, and long dinners where nobody is in a hurry to leave.

Family and Friends...and Pets!

Dana and I love to spend time with our family and friends.  We have family in Verona, which is one of the reasons we moved here.  We meet for dinners, games and just a quick catch up.  We have also made friends in town througn walks with our dog Lucy, Soccer and just getting involved in town activities.

Reading and travel

History, business, self-help books...these are all things I enjoy in my free time.  Dana and I also like to plan trips and travel whenever the calendar allows.

Professional Experience

What I Do for a Living

I have spent nearly 30 years in business strategy, risk management, and operational improvement. The through line has been the same in every role: figure out what is actually going wrong, get the right people in the room, and deliver a result people can measure.

Strategy and planning

Building multi-year plans, setting priorities when resources are limited, and making the trade-offs explicit instead of burying them.

Risk management

Identifying what can go wrong before it does, putting controls in place, and holding organizations to them. Municipal budgets and contracts benefit from the same discipline.

Operational improvement

Simplifying processes, modernizing tools, and cutting the wait time between a request and an answer. That is exactly the work township services need.

Leading teams and budgets

Managing people, vendors, and dollars, with the accountability that comes with all three.
